The SCVA operates between the months of November and June. Our boys season runs from early November through mid-February, takes a break for the high school season, and then resumes for the month of June. Our girls season begins in January and continues through June. Overall, there are tournaments every weekend (excluding Easter).
Payscale
The SCVA pays per game, depending on experience and certification. This season, High School Officials receive $7 per game; Collegiate Officials receive $7.50 per game; National and Junior National Officials receive $8 per game. SCVA Officials are guaranteed 12 games per day. Paychecks are disbursed based on a set pay schedule (approximately once a month), with a recap of games worked. Please note: Officials will only be paid if all registration is complete (see below).
Registration Procedure
Individuals interested in officiating for the SCVA must 1) attend one of the scheduled clinics (see below), 2) submit the necessary paperwork, and 3) register online (outlined below). One must attend a clinic to be eligible to officiate for the 2006/2007 season.
The SCVA is offering four clinics this year. One must attend one of the clinics to be eligible to work for the upcoming season. All level of officials are welcome at each of the three clinics. Please RSVP to mel at the SCVA if you are attending a clinic (mel@scvavolleyball.org)
